Jul 13, 2011 - Bank of Uganda to Host the Associaton of Africa Central Banks Sub-region Meeting

 
Bank of Uganda will host the Association of African Central Banks (AACB) Eastern Africa Sub-region Committee meeting, July 13 – 15, 2011, at the Commonwealth Speke Resort, Munyonyo.
 
Technical officials from over five Central Banks in the region will converge in Kampala on July 13 -14, 2011, to precede the meeting of Governors on July 15, 2011. Deliberations shall centre on the: 
 
·         Status of the implementation of the African Monetary Co-operation Programme in 2010;  
·         Optimal policy responses to current macroeconomic challenges facing the region; and
·         Progress on the activities of the African Union Commission-AACB joint Committee.
 
The sub-regional meeting is organized to inform the 35th annual meeting of the AACB, which will be hosted by the Reserve Bank of Malawi on August 8 – 12, 2011, Lilongwe, Malawi.
